Box Five at the Tin Angel 06/15/06 TICKET EXTRAVAGANZA!!! :D
Hello loves! As you may or may not know, Box Five will be playing an AMAZING headlining gig at Philadelphia's illustrious Tin Angel on June 15, 2006. The line will feature a rock band AND a string quartet, and a good time is sure to be had by all. WOO!
The booking agent has asked Mary to pre-sell FIFTY tickets to the event (eeeeep!), so to make sure this happens she is offering a "pay-what-you-want" discount to all who buy tickets from her directly -- admission is $8, but if you buy from her directly you can pay ANY amount ($5, $4, whatever) and she will pay the rest. Just drop her an email HERE and let her know how many tickets you'll need. Yay!

Nicki Jaine
In other fun news, Mary was recently tapped by the lovely and talented Nicki Jaine to play piano and sing backing vocals at some of the artist's upcoming shows. A stunning contralto who plays everything from guitar to concertina to musical saw (no, really!!), Ms. Jaine combines the sultriness of Marlene Dietrich with the quirky gothpop vibe of Dresden Doll's Amanda Palmer. Mary is totally stoked to be working with her; hooray! :D Nicki rules!! :D

Mary in this week's CityPaper
Not long ago, the fine folks at the Philadelphia Citypaper tapped Mary to pen a short review for Culture Shock, a weekly column that allows local celebs (and silly redheaded piano playing classipop songwriters that WISH they were local celebs ;)) to dish on whatever is currently tickling their artistic fancy. Fun!
Anyhoo, you can catch Mary's synesthesia-induced blurb praising Dante Alighieri's Divina Commedia on page 29 of this week's CityPaper, available for free at any one of the orange-colored CP newspaper boxes scattered throughout the city. It's also been posted on the CP website right here, for out-of-towners.

Mary will appear on Rutgers University-based WRSU's "The Spectacle" with host Hadrian Mordecai on June 6th, for a special solo performance and interview. You'll be able to stream the broadcast live on the day of the show (6PM-8PM EST) at the WRSU website, which is right here. Hooray! :D

6/15/06 - Box Five, Live @ the Tin Angel! (with string quartet!!)
Sweet mother of pearl! On Thursday, June 15th, Box Five will be playing a headlining gig at one of the most famous venues in Philly (and definitely the coziest!), the illustrious Tin Angel in Old City. The TA reguarly hosts national acts, so to be asked to play there is quite the honor! Yay! :D
