Hey you lovely Box Five friends you!! Here is an update long overdue, because you may have been wondering, "Hey, why has Box Five only been playing one show per month recently? Usually they are extreme gig maniacs playing up and down the East Coast! Did Mary's leg fall off or something!? Have aliens taken over Chris Pires' brain!? I MUST KNOW!!". Well, we will tell you! But first:

NEW SHOW: BOX FIVE [Piano and violin duo], LIVE @ BLOC 11 (04/14/10, SOMERVILLE MA)
Hooray, hooray, and hooray again! Box Five is simply delighted to have been invited to perform at Somerville's sweet and cheeky Bloc 11! <3 Come have a cup of tea and a scrumptious sandwich, and rock out with us in a calm, cafe-like fashion! :) We go on at 7pm, and will be opening for the fantabuous Naia Kete, who goes on at 8pm. Here are the details!:

BOX FIVE [Piano and violin duo], LIVE @ BLOC 11 (04/14/10, SOMERVILLE MA)
When: Wednesday, April 14th @ 7PM (Box Five goes on right at 7! ♥)
Where: Bloc 11 (11 Bow St., Somerville MA)
Cost: FREE/pass that hat type thing :)
Line-up: Piano and violin duo featuring the AMAZING Eliza Kopczynska on violin! ♥
With: Naia Kete

And now the moment you've all been waiting for...

Why so silent, good monsieurs?
So yes, we've only been playing out once a month or so. And yes, our blog, usually brimming with news and silly babblings of a certain redhead, has been pretty empty recently. Perhaps you are growing suspicious, and sense a mystery afoot...

Well, yes, you are right! :) We are working on something big, and fun, and decadent, and neon-colored, and awesome. And it may or may not contain punk rock Paganini violin solos. :)

We can't spill the beans just yet, but rest assured that 1) we are working hard, and 2) we are far enough along that we will be able to make an official announcement about everything quite soon!

So hold on to your hats, and hang in there! Watch this space for further updates... :)

New show: Mary of BOX FIVE @ Cloud Club's "Androgyny ORG" Concert!
SO, SO awesome! Did you know?? There is going to be a CRAZY concert over at Boston's Cloud Club, with a theme of Androgyny. And Mary is going to impersonate Thom Yorke, and sing some Radiohead songs!! FUN!!

The show is invite-only, but if you really really REALLY wanna go, send us an email and we'll see what we can do!

Here are all of the details, WOOHOO!

When: Saturday, March 13th @ 7pm
Where: The Cloud Club, Boston (invitation only)
Cost: $10
Line-up: Mary solo...dressed up in army pants and a black sweater, a la Thom Yorke from 1997 :)
Also performing that evening: Mali Sastri, What Time is it Mr. Fox, Molly Zenobia, Gem Club, Clara Engel, Mike Cooper, Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys, and in-house megaband Brendan Burns (guitar), Valerie Thompson (cello), and Nate Greenslit (drums)
